oh to be a baby

last night Iwas thinking about how great it would be to be the baby. in the past week, Savannah has shown me so many times how small and simple things are the best.
to start, sometimes our animals drive me crazy, and I think how much simplier life would be without pets (don't get me wrong, I love them) but miss. savannah finds great delight in them. here is a picture of her, (loving miss. bella)

she also loves to fill things up and empty them. We took down our dvd tower because she pulled it over one too many times. Now the dvds are in a crate. She loves to empty it. I don't know how many times i have picked up dvds in the past week, but she certainly finds entertainment and is occupied by it for minutes..sometimes almost 30-45 minutes. (sorry about the bad picture)

finally, she has a love for laundry, dirty or clean. It is simply the best. I don't really understand it, considering I hate laundry. Ugh.. the worst I say.

I definately need to slow down and enjoy the simple things of life.

"the tree picture"

every year we take a picture in front of our tree, granted you can't really see the tree in this picture, so we will take another, but this is so far my favorite picture we have taken as a family. I love my little girl and dear husband. We took this on sunday before church, it had been a great day, I actually made breakfast on the weekend, ( nathan only passed out for a few minutes), we had a holiday party at my aunts, nates brothers came over, and my sweet sister-in-law and brother in law brought us the cutest cupcakes ever. We love it when they come to visit. The amazing cupcakes:
Miss. Savannah was as happy as a clam on sunday as well, completely content to sit in her big girl chair, and love on her teddy from uncle tim
She also loves to wait for the dog after we put her out. Talk about hiliarious, she yells dog and talks and hits the window.
all in all, it was a great weekend and it has totally put me in the holiday spirit. I am hoping to complete a bunch of projects this week, or maybe next when I don't have to go to work! Yes I know I am one lucky duck!

gingerbreadhouses

this past weekend we made gingerbread houses with some friends(okay our only friends, who we love and adore) But it was great, and a yearly tradition that we keep with Tim and Katie. Miss. Savannah also loved the experience and knawed on a gingerbread boy. She also loved the new teddy bear that (uncle) tim gave her, and found great delight in destroying their house.

dingo

we went to my aunts house this weekend for a little shindig and she has a mini terrier named dingo and miss savannah was IN LOVE with her. We got this little video of her, and if you listen close she is talking and laughing up a storm. It was great.

looking at christmas lights.

for as long as i can remember, it has been a tradition in our house to go for rides and look at christmas lights. nate and i have carried on this tradition with our own little family, and last night we took savannah to look at lights. I thought she would just sleep through our little trip in rigby, but she was totally into it. It was so funny. Every time we would come to a house with lights, she would put out one chubby finger and point at the house and then babble.....and crank her neck back as we passed it. at one especially decorate home, I said ahhhh... and then I hear miss. savannah follow right after with a ahhhh..mama. Oh these are the days that I always want to remember.
nathan also put some trees up in front of the house that have lights on them. Savannah is enthralled with them. They do look pretty sweet if you ask me...
I have plans to take lots of pictures this weekend.. so hoepfully I'll have a good picture post for monday.

holiday fun.

so this year we are feeling the economic crunch just as much as everyone else and so we have been spending a lot of the holiday season at home, or finding free activities to enjoy.
but one of savannahs favorite activities is playing with the plastic ordaments we used to put on our tree. she loves throwing them, looking at them and resting her head on them. She is such a funny girl.

seeing santa

sooo.. i am sure that every little kid has one or two of these laying around. The first picture with santa. Savannah is no exception. Last Friday, we ventured out to midnight madness, and stopped at the local dentist office where they were taking free pictures with Santa. we stood in line and our sweet girl had no idea what was coming. She was loving all the little kids and the decorations. then it happened: Daddy set her on santas lap...and her whole world came crashing down. It only took her a few seconds to start screaming and stop breathing. Everyone there kept telling her to take a breath, and i kept telling them to snap the picture. poor girl. as soon as it was over, she was all smiles again. oh the things we do to our children.

snow and more

so.. it's finally snowing. I am very happy about it. others are not, but I am estatic. I don't think it feels like Christmas unless it is snowing. I finally feel like playing christmas music and doing some christmas craftiness. I forgot my camera this morning and I wished a hundred times that i had it. I will be taking some pictures of Savannah in her first snow. I am hoping to pull together a quick FHE tonight....I found a great idea for a fun project with savannah. We will have to see how willing she is... :o)
well till later... I'll be enjoying my winter wonderland.

She is just delightful.

every year on the day after thanksgiving, nate and i go to the old train bridge over the snake river and take a picture. this is where my honey proposed. this year we had miss savannah with us. we are also planning on using these in our christmas cards. it was alot of fun, except that it was a little cold.

shes amazing, brilliant and talented

okay maybe we are bias...just a little, but our baby is well above normal, exceptional, and beyond talented..... why or how you ask???

she can stand! by herself no...but holding on.. absolutely. (nevermind the running nose and slobber only a mother can love.

Thanksgiving

well our thanksgiving was good. we went to nate's parents house at 11, and i had great plans of taking lots of pictures...well it didn't happen. then we went to mom and dads at 3:30. (the power was out, due to a huge wreck on 48) mom was stressing, and they had to use the stove in the camper , but it was a great day none the less. The food was amazing at both houses, as always, and savannah was such a great sport. such a good girl.

here are a few pictures of our day.
before the festivities began.

miss. banana cakes posing for her first thanksgiving picture

the amazing turkey hairbow she wore to celebrate

the fam at mom and dads. oh how we love this crazy family. oh and don't worry, savannah didn't look at the camera in any of these pictures. she was over it by then and hello.. grandpa put up deer people.. can't you see them???

just because she is cute

miss. savannah. last saturday, before heading to town with grandma and momma.
-this morning, she tried to walk using the couch.. holy cow.. I just can't believe it.
-she says momma, and cried when I left moms house and for enrichment last night. It breaks my heart, but makes me feel good at the same time. I have a Momma's Girl.
We just can't imagine life without her.

pictures from our ride

sunday drive

last sunday afternoon, we decided we needed a break and took miss. savannah for a ride. Now that she has a forward facing car seat, life in a car is sooooooooooo much better. We went to feed the fish and see the waterfalls. I thought for sure that savannah wouldn't like the waterfalls too much, but boy was I wrong, she was in love with them and cried for about 15 minutes when we left ,and then passed out in her carseat. funny girl

11/14/2008

russian baby anyone/??

thanks to grandma in boise.. we have an awesome new hat. oOOHHH it is just delightful. and our baby girl makes it look beautiful. Savannah loves that her carseat now faces forward as well. She loves to look in the rearview mirror and talks to me..

this little piggy

our little piggy. moving everywhere, torturing the cat, the dog... figuring out how to open doors, smashing fingers in drawers, changing the channels with the remote, saying dada, obsessed with plug ins, loves animals, gives big kisses and hugs, throwing out the bink for some yogurt bites. Sometimes I honestly can't believe she's mine. She is amazing and intelligent (maybe I'm bias) But I love this little girl more than I know how to explain.

Hope you have a terrific day.

a new calling...

so last night mom and I got new callings in our ward. If feels good to have a calling again. I haven't had one in awhile because of having a baby and so forth... But mom and I are the sharing time coordinators for primary..what this means.. well we don't completely know. We aren't sure if we just plan or if we do sharing time.. we will find out on sunday. I am excited to do it though. It feels good to not have to teach ( that is my usual calling) it's hard to go from fourth grade to primary teacher..

Miss. Savannah is a crawling maniac, and is into everything. WE love her though, and she throws you this sweet smile before she does something shes not suppose to.. like rip a power cord out of the wall, or pull open a drawer and empty it for the fifteenth time.

I am going to take some video of her on my camera tonight and try to figure out how to post it.

Till then.. wish us luck...

pumpkin patch

A week ago we took savannah to the pumpking patch to pick out her very first pumpkin. She loved watching all the kids and when we set her in a pile of pumpkins she picked one up, and that is the one she took home. She wasn't much in the mood for pictures but we took a few anyway.

Also just last night Savannah crawled for the first time. It was terrific. She was so proud of herself, and then this morning she was a crawling maniac..so exciting and so much work.

savannah's first halloween

Here is our sweet little lady bug on halloween morning. Believe it or not she loved her costume and every time we took off her wings and antena she would cry.. She was a great sport and went to visit daddy at work, grandpa at work and even had lunch with great grandma.

Later that night, she raided mommy and daddy's candy for tricker treaters, and then went to grandma and grandpas for dinner and a movie. By the end of the night, she was tuckered out.

What a great first halloween.
