putting up the Christmas Tree.

This is Bella the cats' ornament. Bella ran away earlier this year and when Savannah pulled this bell out of the box, she said, Oh my Bella.. she loved this ornament. We will hang in on the tree.. at the bottom. She loves to play with it. Maybe she will come back if she hears it."

This year we started a new tradition. When we put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, we have also started making homemade pizza. It was so much fun to watch Savannah's excitment. She could barely contain herself when Nate went downstairs to get the tree, and was thrilled to put up the ornaments. She decorated the tree, with most of the ornaments gathered together in one spot. We left it that way, and then a few days later, she helped me spread it all out. Christmas is magical when you have little ones. I am loving the holiday season more than usual, and I pretty sure it has to do with a certain little munchkin. :0)

Halloween

I am playing a little catch-up and just wanted to share what we did for halloween this year. Savannah was really into the whole idea of getting candy this year, and it was the first time we had ever taken her door to door. We also went to Boo at the Zoo, carved pumpkins, visited the pumpkin patch, and I feverishly worked on her Tinkerbell costume until the last second..

tis the season

Every year, the day after Thanksgiving, we like to go to a special spot on the Snake River and take our family photo. This is the same spot(well close to) where Nathan proposed..so long ago. ;0) so... if i don't get my Christmas cards sent.. here you go. hehehehe!!!

I thought about going back through the whole summer, and then i got discouraged, so i thought i would just start with today, and move forward. I am hoping to get blog posts up more often, now that life is back on a schedule of sorts.

My sweet savannah

Last week we took Savannah to get her pictures taken by a local photographer Jill Aponte. I have known Jill since we were both about Savannah's age. She does an amazing job. Just look at my sweet girl. I am so excited to see the rest of the pictures.

Miss. Savannah was so excited to get her picture taken. She loved every minute of it. She is growing up so much. I wish she could stay this way forever. BAh. Why do kids have to grow???

reading

Savannah has a definate love of reading. She can spend hours looking at the books on her shelf and quite often asks to be read to, or asks, "Mama, what does this say?" She loves to visit the library or the bookstore.
On this day, I was busy cleaning up the kitchen and could hear her talking, so I went into the living room and found her reading to her barbies.
I hope her love of reading continues for many many years.
