is still hooked on one of these
and I don't know how to get stop her. in all that i've read they say to go cold turkey...what do you think?? she does drink from a sippy cup, but everytime we put milk in one, she looks at it funny and then refuses it. she usually has a bottle at 5 am, one at nape time, and then again at bed time, but sometimes she has more..and p.s. will she ever want anything more than cheese and goldfish???
does anyone have any ideas to help me?

We had to put "special" new drinks in her sippy cups and get new sippy cups. We put juice or chocolate or strawberry milk in her sippy just to get her to trust the cup. DON'T lay her down to drink this stuff though and brush her teeth or auntBecca will get mad! Put the bottles away in a box so she doesn't see them and you'll probably have a few fits and tears, but it's worth it. Good luck!
Try the sippy cups with the silicone top, they are a lot like bottles and that's how we finally transitioned Chandler. We put him down with his bottle at night every night and I don't think it was great for his teeth. He's already had 2 teeth filled at age 3. It will come, just be patient :)
And if it doesn't happen right away, don't sweat it. Our ped just told us to try to have Chan off the bottle by the time he was 2, so you've got time.
You can count me out for suggestions!!! I have NO experience with offspring!!! HOWEVER, I do know that she freaked when I cleaned your teeth, so it's probably best to listen to Tiffany and Sherie!!! I don't think we'll get her in a dental chair for YEARS!!!! When I'm going to bed, I like go have a nice bowl of ice cream!!! Maybe she'll like that!!!! LOVE YOU!
My first two quickly abandoned the bottle when they switched from formula to milk. No problems. Averie was two, and it was a BIG deal. I let her pick out a couple of really cool sippy cups from the store and then let her throw away her bottle all by herself. She cried the first night and asked for it for a few days, but that was pretty much it.
I hope things are going well. I always hate to take things away from our kids. I seriously think it's more of a problem for me than them. We didn't have a bottle problem, but definitely did with pacifiers. Bria was 2 1/2 before she gave hers up and Max was almost 3. It's totally my fault too since I never pushed them. My mom always used to tell me that by the time all kids reach kindergarten age, they won't have a pacifiers and will be potty trained and walk and talk just fine. Kids just learn things at different times and on different levels. Good luck! I hope everything goes well. =)
Blaze was 2 1/2 before he gave them up- my two girls we did the bottle fairy I'll admit a little too young but they had fun putting them in the basket in the morning and that night ( usual bottle time) we found the basket again filled with new fun princess sippy's it still took a few nights for them to adjust but it worked..good luck - come see me sometime!
