If she watches tv, the dvd is the only way to go. I recommend lots of snacks and drinks, lots of stops, and leaving right after she falls asleep for the night if you guys can handle driving through the night.

I agree with the dvd player. We got one for Macy on our 18 hour drive to California last summer and that's when she fell in love with Elmo! Whatever you do though, don't let her drink milk!!! It just curdles and then you know what follows. Lots of juice and water is good. She loved her magnadoodle too.

when my sister and i drove to arizona with 3 toddlers in the backseat last summer we made "treat bags." every few hours we would give each kid a treat bag that was filled with anything from fruit snacks and juice boxes to a new box of crayons to a new toy or movie or book. we found a ton of stuff at the dollar stores. that way they always looked forward to something new in the bags, and it was always a surprise, and it was fairly inexpensive. even mason being so little enjoyed it. my other tidbit of advice...DRIVE THROUGH THE NIGHT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. We made it halfway to arizona almost before any of the kids even awoke!

Of course I remember you! :) I can't believe I haven't run across your blog yet. How are you? Your little girl is beautiful. Oklahoma hu? That will be a fun drive! ha ha When my little boy was younger we drove to Wisconsin. All I can say is TREATS and MOVIES! :) They worked well for us. I would love to take pictures of your little girl! It would be awesome practice for me. She's the perfect little model.

You can make cereal necklaces - they take a long time to eat and entertain at the same time. I ditto everyone else on the DVD player. We regularly go to NM which is about 15 hours and I am POSITIVE we would all go insane without it. Seriously, even if she doesn't watch TV now, she will love the entertainment in the car!
